摘要:
This seminar consists of three parts, the first part takes injection molding as a typical batch process for practical control developments to illustrate the process natures. The second part elevates these natures into the algorithmic developments of process monitoring and control. The third part sheds some light on the general direction of next generation manufacturing.

高福荣教授简介：

Dr. Furong Gao is a professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is an Associate Editor of Journal of Process Control and Editorial Advisor Board Member of Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research. He received his B.S. degree in Automation from East China Institute of Petroleum in 1985 and M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering from McGill University in Canada in 1989 and 1993, respectively. His research interests include process monitoring and control, polymer engineering. He has published more than 160 SCI papers in the relevant fields. He won a number times of the best paper award from different international conferences and journals. He is the only Fellow from Mainland China and Hong Kong in the Society of Plastics Engineers.
